A Story That Started Within Our Own Team
On July 26, 2026, HIPHOPADELLIC released a new episode of its documentary series BEHIND THE ARTIST, featuring Medellín artist Builesmith in an episode titled “From The Andes To The Alps.”
Unlike previous documentaries, this story began much closer to home.
When we started producing the BEHIND THE ARTIST series alongside our audiovisual partner Trigo Creative Company, we noticed something. Builesmith was part of the production team, but he was also building his own path as an artist. It was not a marketing decision. It was something we witnessed while working with him every day.
A Moment That Confirmed the Instinct
That feeling became stronger when Colombian rapper Granuja invited Builesmith to open his concert in Barcelona during his October 2025 European tour. When an artist with Granuja’s trajectory chooses an emerging artist to open a show, it says something about what they hear in the music.
For us, it confirmed that Builesmith had a story worth telling.
From Guatapé to Switzerland
The documentary follows Builesmith through different chapters of his journey.
In April 2025, before traveling to Switzerland, we spent several days together during our creative camp in Guatapé, Colombia. That camp is where we got to know both his music and the person behind it.
From there, the story continues into Switzerland, documenting his experiences abroad while balancing two different worlds.
A Chill Sound With Serious Connections
Builesmith’s music sits in a chill, laid-back space within Medellín’s rap scene. His approach is less about aggression and more about atmosphere, building tracks that breathe rather than hit.
One of his collaborations features Juan Sinatra, one half of the production duo The Colombians. Juan Sinatra and his partner Ily Wonder have spent over a decade shaping the sound of Medellín’s rap and urban music, producing for artists like Crudo Means Raw, Feid, Maluma, Oblivion’s Mighty Trash, Blessd, and the late Métricas Frías of Doble Porción. Their production style bridges rap and reggaetón, finding common ground between both worlds through a soul-driven base.
That connection places Builesmith within one of Medellín’s most respected production circles. For an emerging artist still building his catalog, working with someone from The Colombians network is a direct line into the infrastructure that has shaped some of the city’s most recognized names.
Behind The Artist: More Than a Rapper
Builesmith represents something specific within the HIPHOPADELLIC ecosystem.
While developing his own music career, he is also responsible for producing audiovisual content for an entire creative team. The documentary offers an authentic look at an emerging artist from Medellín who lives both sides of the creative process: behind the camera and behind the microphone.
Rather than focusing on a single release or album, this episode focuses on the artist himself, his journey, his vision, and the path he is creating.
HIPHOPADELLIC Take
BEHIND THE ARTIST was created to connect audiences with the people shaping hip-hop culture around the world.
From Medellín to Switzerland, Builesmith’s story shows that the culture is built by the artists on stage and equally by the people creating, documenting, and living it every day.
