A Project Created by Nipsey, Not Built After His Death
On August 14, 2026, one day before what would have been Nipsey Hussle‘s 41st birthday, Nipsey Hussle and Bino Rideaux released PROLIFIC. A 15-track collaborative album. 47 minutes. Released through All Money In & Out The Blue Records under exclusive license to Atlantic Recording Corporation.
This distinction matters more than any tracklist or feature credit. PROLIFIC is not a collection of unrelated recordings assembled after Nipsey’s passing on March 31, 2019. The project was built from the ground up by both artists during sessions that took place after the success of Nipsey’s Grammy-nominated debut album Victory Lap (February 2018). Every track on this album existed as part of a deliberate creative vision shared between Nipsey and Bino before the world lost Nip.
Nipsey and Bino: From No Pressure to PROLIFIC
This collaboration did not come out of nowhere. Nipsey and Bino Rideaux first connected for their 2017 joint project No Pressure, which featured a sole guest appearance from Dave East and included the fan-favorite single “Stucc In The Grind.” Their chemistry developed through repeated studio sessions, with Bino describing how much he learned from Nipsey during the process.
Nipsey’s brother, Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, has been closely involved in protecting his brother’s artistic legacy since 2019. For PROLIFIC, Blacc Sam made the position of the family and team clear. He described the project as a body of work Nipsey created with Bino from top to bottom and emphasized that it was not something the team simply compiled after his death. The album is being released in the way Nipsey envisioned it.
That context gives PROLIFIC a different weight. Nipsey’s catalog has been handled selectively since his passing. PROLIFIC arrives as a project that had already been built around a specific creative relationship, rather than an attempt to create a new Nipsey album from unrelated material.

The feature list reads like a map of Los Angeles music. Ty Dolla $ign appears twice. Cardi B joins the closing stretch. Buddy, the Compton rapper and singer, reinforces the project’s West Coast roots. Leon Thomas and James Fauntleroy bring vocal and songwriting depth. BH holds down the laid-back California energy on “All Summer.”
The inclusion of Static Major on “Reckless” is particularly notable. Static Major (Stephen Garrett) passed away on April 1, 2008, more than a decade before Nipsey’s own death. His vocals on this track connect two artists whose voices now exist only through the music they left behind.
The Sound of LA Before Everything Changed
The production on PROLIFIC is handled in large part by Mike & Keys, the LA-based duo formerly known as The Futuristiks. Money Mike and J-Keys were the primary producers on Victory Lap, spending over two months at Paramount Recording Studios in Hollywood shaping the sound of Nipsey’s debut. Their credits also include work with Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco, and Dom Kennedy. Victory Lap earned them a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in February 2019.
Mike & Keys were preparing material for Nipsey’s next album when he was killed. That makes their presence on PROLIFIC more than a production credit. It is a continuation of the sonic relationship they had been building with Nipsey since the Crenshaw mixtape in 2013.
The sound of PROLIFIC reflects the era in which it was recorded. Apple Music’s review describes it as a throwback to Los Angeles rap circa 2017. “Reckless” is built around an emotive guitar sample and bouncy drums. “All Summer” carries the kind of energy that should have been playing from LA car radios when it was first tracked. The production sits in a space between West Coast melodic rap and street-oriented storytelling, giving both Nipsey and Bino room to work without competing with the beat.
That approach is consistent with how Mike & Keys have always operated. As they told Billboard about Victory Lap: Nipsey gave them full creative control because he trusted their process. That same trust carries through PROLIFIC.
Nearly a Decade Later
PROLIFIC was recorded years ago, but it arrived in August 2026, one day before what would have been Nipsey’s 41st birthday on August 15. The timing was deliberate.
The release also launched the PROLIFIC apparel line, the first official clothing collection built entirely around archival photography of Nipsey. Complex LA hosted a three-day pop-up at 433 N Fairfax Ave in Los Angeles from August 14 to 16, with Bino Rideaux appearing for a meet and greet on opening day.
For Bino Rideaux, the project represents a continuation of the philosophy and creative direction he shared with Nipsey. The album is connected to a chapter of their careers that existed long before the current release cycle. PROLIFIC marks the first posthumous album to expand Nipsey’s discography, and the fact that it was built as a complete collaborative project sets it apart from how posthumous music is typically handled in hip-hop.

Nipsey Hussle has had a major influence on the HIPHOPADELLIC movement, from the way we look at independent artists and ownership to the way we understand collaboration, community and culture.
We have already preordered both the CD and vinyl because PROLIFIC is more than another posthumous release for us. It represents a piece of Nipsey’s creative history that was created with a clear purpose alongside Bino Rideaux.
With PROLIFIC, the people closest to the project are telling us that the reason was already there.
