Fifteen Days Out.

Seven years ago, “RNP” was the best thing on Cordae’s debut album. Anderson .Paak showed up for four minutes and left the room feeling different. They never really stopped working together after that. “Two Tens” in 2023. “Summer Drop” in 2024. And now Heavy Is The Crown, their first full album together, dropping October 23, 2026. Eleven tracks. The tracklist is still hidden. The friendship behind it has been visible since 2019.

Who Anderson .Paak Is

Brandon Paak Anderson was born February 8, 1986 in Oxnard, California. His mother is Korean, his father African American, and Oxnard raised him on a specific combination of funk, soul, and West Coast hip hop. Before he was on any record, he was working as a farm hand in Oxnard for minimum wage. Dr. Dre found him, featured him on Compton (2015), and the rest of that year changed everything. Malibu (2016) put him in a conversation he has never left. Yes Lawd! with Knxwledge as NxWorries (2016), Oxnard (2018), Ventura (2019). Then Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars, which produced “Leave the Door Open” and accumulated nine Grammy Awards between the two of them. Anderson .Paak is also the drummer on every album he has ever made. That detail explains everything about why his music moves the way it does.

Who Cordae Is

Cordae Amari Dunston was born August 26, 1997 in Raleigh, North Carolina and raised in Suitland, Maryland. He started in the YBN collective and built his reputation on freestyles before The Lost Boy (2019) arrived as one of the most complete debut albums in hip hop that decade, earning a Grammy nomination and featuring Anderson .Paak on “RNP,” the track that introduced their chemistry to the world. From a Birds Eye View (2022) and The Crossroads (2024) followed, each time widening the frame: Eminem, Stevie Wonder, Lil Wayne, Gunna, Chance the Rapper, J. Cole as producer on “Summer Drop.” Cordae is 29 years old. He is in the middle of his run, not the beginning.

Seven Years of Building Toward This

“RNP” on The Lost Boy (2019) was the first signal. Then “Two Tens” in 2023, “Summer Drop” in 2024 from The Crossroads, again with Anderson .Paak. Three collaborations across three albums, each one deeper than the last, before they decided the only logical next step was a full project together. This is two people who genuinely enjoy working together, and Heavy Is The Crown is the first time that has an album to show for it. The Step Brothers artwork is not ironic. It is the actual explanation.

Why This Album Matters Right Now

2026 has produced a remarkable number of collaborative albums built on genuine creative relationships: Coyote and Statik Selektah on Machetes & Micheladas, Rakim, Kurupt and Masta Killa on The Godbody LP, J. Cole‘s double disc built on his own interior architecture. Heavy Is The Crown fits that pattern. Anderson .Paak brings the instrumental depth, the soul catalog, and the Grammy weight. Cordae brings the lyrical precision and the energy of someone still in the ascent. The combination does not cancel either of them out. It multiplies both. The album arrives October 23, two weeks from today.

HIPHOPADELLIC Perspective

Anderson .Paak appeared on The Divine Feminine with Mac Miller in 2016 on “Dang!.” That same year, Cordae was 19 years old and had not yet released a project. Ten years later, both of them are on the same album together. That is not a career coincidence. That is what happens when a generation of artists builds relationships over a decade and then finally puts them on record. Heavy Is The Crown is arriving fifteen days from today. The tracklist is still hidden. But the history that built this album has been public for seven years. That is enough to know this one is going to matter.

One Love. One Family. One Culture.
